Every year, the top furniture designers, manufacturers and industry experts meet in Chicago to talk all about office furniture. This annual convention, NeoCon, showcases the latest in interior furniture from around the world. For Canadians, following the product launches and events at NeoCon is a great lens into the future of office furniture.
NeoCon (which is also known as the National Exposition of Contract Furnishings) is one of North America’s largest trade shows. It was started in 1969 and is held every year at Merchandise Mart in Chicago. With over 1,000 exhibitors and 50,000 attendees, NeoCon is the main attraction for furniture enthusiasts.
Although NeoCon attracts mostly American companies and designers, it still has a big impact on the industry up in Canada. The new furniture displays are a great indicator of office furniture trends and innovative styles. Thousands of new products – from office chairs to desk lamps – are launched every year at NeoCon.
There are seminars and speakers from all types of organizations, including interior design studios, certification bodies, furniture manufacturers and media. Space planners showcase the latest designs from workplaces – big and small – throughout the world.
